This
workshop will allow representatives from transit agencies
to understand and share the benefits of intelligent transportation
systems (ITS) in transit, as well as to ease their introduction
into current transit operations. Many operators struggle to
meet the growing needs of their riders. The current state
of ITS deployment in the transit arena will help to provide
a vision of where and how transit and advanced technologies
could migrate. With buses and trains getting smarter, learn
how new technologies, both on board the vehicles and roadside,
are being applied to better serve operators as well as customers.
The
format of this ITS Canada workshop is designed to facilitate
the exchange of information and to make it accessible yet
informative and comprehensive. The two key themes discussed
during this one-day event will be:
 ITS
in transit operations
procurement
of ITS.
