Intelligent Transportaton Systems and Transit

ITS Canada, in collaboration with the Association québécoise du transport et des routes (AQTR) and the Québec chapter of the Canadian Urban Transit Association (ACTU-Québec), is proud to announce that a Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems and Transit will take place in Montreal on December 7, 2006.

This Conference will address the following topics:

How transit network planning can be improved
How transit network operations can be improved, i.e., better management of service, of fleet, of maintenance, etc.
How to better inform users of network status and services.

The speakers selected by the organizing committee will present a variety of interesting topics, including:

ITS Benefits Evaluation Framework
Project on User Information Assistance Using ITS
Fleet Management Systems for Maintenance and Operations – Example of Long Island
Cost/Benefit Analysis of ITS Projects
Use of 511 for Transport Information
Réno-Système Project at the Société des transports de Montréal
Trans-Link Project: The Cost/Benefit Analysis of 98 B-Line
The Smart Card Project in Ottawa.

The Conference is expected to attract about 100 participants, and is geared to anyone interested in transit or its use, and the integration of intelligent transportation systems and new technologies as a transportation professional, municipal manager or citizen.

In addition, a trade show will provide exhibitors with an invaluable opportunity to showcase their products and services to an audience of influential people in the field of transit.

Simultaneous interpretation will be offered.
