Preparations are well underway to welcome you to Montreal for ITS Canada's 2008 Annual Conference and General Meeting. The Conference will be held in the heart of downtown Montreal at the Place Bonaventure Conference Centre and attendees can stay at the Chateau Champlain Hotel. The theme of the Conference is "ITS – The road to safe and secure transport!" The Conference will be led by Alain Choquette himself. For more than 15 years now, Alain has been fascinating people around the world. He first started with Quebec audiences, introducing people to his art on television, and then appeared on stage at the popular St-Denis Theatre of Montreal where he had great success. Nowadays, he appears in both Quebec and the United States, where all his shows are well received, with each of them being a new challenge for him.

Based on his talent as well as his charisma and humour, Alain Choquette’s performance charms audiences from Quebec to New Brunswick to Las Vegas, where he entertains magic fans in theatres. Demand for his shows is definitely on the increase. Today, Alain Choquette also acts as a TV facilitator and, quite recently, as a corporate speaker. Through this project, which is of great importance to him, the magician discloses his own professional and real-life experiences.

The technical program includes about 35 technical lectures, at least 15 of which will be delivered by international speakers on various topics: security and safety, traffic management, public transportation, traveller information, research and innovation in the ITS field, etc.

As well, three workshops will be held that will include presentations from national and international lecturers and discussions in plenary sessions covering topics such as intelligent bridges, information flow architecture at borders and vehicle
infrastructure integration.

One training session will be held on the framework for evaluating Canadian Intelligent Transportation Systems projects, presented by Transport Canada.

Take an active part in the modernization of the Canadian ITS environment by attending a gathering of the participants for the
project to updating the new ITS architecture for Canada.

Exhibit Floor Bookings

One of several highlights of ITS Canada's Annual Conference is always the exhibition, which provides technology manufacturers/vendors, organizations and consulting firms with an opportunity to display their products, services and expertise. With each passing year, the exhibition provides an increasingly significant contribution for delegates, and continues to grow in both size and popularity.

This year's event includes a Live ITS Demo Zone – In addition to the exhibit hall, delegates will be given the opportunity to visit an exhibit space dedicated to the display of ITS products and services. This ITS circuit will consist of an urban road integrating many ITS technologies. An electric vehicle will drive through various junctions, activating ITS technologies as it passes.

A colour Exhibitor's Guide will showcase those organizations exhibiting at the event, providing additional exposure for exhibitors and a valuable reference for participants. All delegates will be provided with a copy of the Exhibitor's Guide, which will include logos and profiles for each exhibitor as well as a detailed floor plan of the exhibit hall showing booth allocations. As well, our popular "Passport to Prizes" will provide delegates with an opportunity to win prizes by visiting all exhibitors on the floor and entering their completed Passport in the draw.

Exhibit space reservations will be honoured on a first-come, first-served basis with priority given to ITS Canada Sustaining Corporate members until January 28, 2008.
