Rex Sing Lau Lee 

February 6, 1959 – September 26, 2018

Rex Lee spent the bulk of his career working in Intelligent Transportation Systems.  Rex received a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Electrical Engineering from the University of Hong Kong and was a Chartered Engineer of the Engineering Council of the United Kingdom.  He joined Delcan Corporation (now Parsons Inc.) in 1989.  Over his years at Delcan Rex rose to the position of Vice President of Systems responsible for Delcan’s ITS practice across Canada and the rest of the world with the exception of the US.  He worked in more than 20 major cities across Canada, Asia and Europe and led a number of award winning projects including the Hong Kong Route 8 Traffic Control and Surveillance System which won an International Road Federation Global Road Achievement Award.  Two other projects also won IRF awards and awards were received from Canadian Consulting Engineers, GTEC Distinction Awards and the Hong Kong Development Bureau.  Rex’s leadership and creativity in his Hong Kong projects were a key component of Delcan winning the Hong Kong – Canada Business Performance Achievement Award.

Rex was an incredibly hard-working man, diligent in all his undertakings and honest in all his dealings.   His tireless dedication and expertise helped transform Delcan into a world renowned ITS firm.  He was committed to the success of the Company, his clients and their projects.  Rex was a man of faith, principle, dedication and commitment and was a pleasure to be around.  He will also be remembered for his constant smile and friendly, easy going style.

Rex made significant contributions to the ITS industry around the world and was also a strong supporter of Canadian ITS industry in his international projects, workshops and activities.  Rex supported ITS Canada over the years, most recently contributing to the Education Roundtable at the ACGM in June 2018.
