Managing expectations is vital to ensuring commuter satisfaction with their public transportation service. When customers are given an estimated time for their bus and must wait way longer, they lose a sense of control over their commute and become frustrated. TransLink in Vancouver has developed an innovative approach using Machine Learning (ML) to improve bus departure time predictions. This webinar will present this project, including model development, system architecture, and integration into an existing system. The results will be compared to baseline historical average metrics, and the accuracy on a prediction level will be analyzed.
