The
Conference and Exhibition
The conference theme
for ITS Canada's Annual Conference 2005 is “Time
for Integration!” The technical
program (PDF) will provide
attendees with information on a mix of research, planning,
and deployment of Intelligent Transportation Systems.
This
year’s program has a new look and feel. With
all that’s happening on the Canadian ITS scene,
the program is more varied than in past years, and
also has more sessions. This year’s conference
will include the following changes:
A guided tour of Quebec City is included in the
fees for registered guests and spouses. Join us
Sunday afternoon for a bus tour of Quebec City.
Technical tours are scheduled in parallel with the
Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning technical sessions.
Note that there is an additional charge for the
tours, and places are limited.
Because of the increased number of speakers, the
Tuesday afternoon sessions will also run in parallel.
Simultaneous translation will be available during
technical sessions as well as the two luncheons.
We trust that this information will help you plan
your attendance at this year’s conference.
The
conference will be supplemented with a large exhibition
that will provide the latest on technology and expertise
in the ITS industry.

About
Quebec City
As
the capital of the province of Quebec, Quebec City
is home to 650,000 residents, and is located on the
north shore of the St. Lawrence River, about 250 kilometres
northeast of Montreal. Its name comes from an Indian
word meaning “where the river narrows”.
The city is made up of two parts, the Upper Town and
the Lower Town.
Quebec
City combines the charms of old Europe with all the
conveniences of a bustling North American city, and
is the only fortified city north of Mexico. The walls
contain four huge arched gates, replete with sentry
paths and cannons pointing out towards the St. Lawrence.
The city’s best recognized landmark, the magnificent
Chateau Frontenac, a renowned hotel in the old city,
overlooks the River. Cobbled streets and eclectic
shops and boutiques add a delightful flavour. The
Quebec City area boasts one of the lowest crime rates
in North America.
Set
in an exceptional natural setting, Quebec City blends
French and English influences, and presents a mix
of art and architecture that attests to the life and
lifestyle of bygone days. Visit the oldest stone church
in North America, or stroll along the river walks
and admire the view. A symphony for the senses and
the spirit!
