ITS Canada Michel Van Aerde Memorial Scholarship for Graduate Studies in ITS 2015

 

2015 Submission Requirements

For All Applicants:  ALL eligibility requirements must be met, with no exceptions. Your application will be rejected before reaching the evaluation committee, and all documents returned, if the requirements are not met. This ensures a fair and open process.

Submission Deadline: March 16, 2015            

Expected Announcement Date:   April 1, 2015

Eligibility:
Canadian Citizen or Landed Immigrant. Students already registered in a full-time graduate studies program related to Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) at a Canadian university, or confirmed to enter a graduate program in the year of application for this award.

Criteria:
The selection committee will recommend an award based on academic standing, stated education and career objectives, demonstrated understanding of ITS, work experience related to ITS, supporting letters of reference, and (if determined desirable by the Committee) an interview with the supervising professor or current employer. Applications may be submitted in English or French and must address each submission topic. Unsuccessful candidates may reapply only after one year has elapsed.

 

Submission Requirements:

  1.  Covering letter with contact information, including mailing address, telephone and e-mail
  2.  Written proof of Canadian citizenship or landed immigrant status
  3. Statement of educational background (list degrees and pertinent courses taken) and copies of latest education transcripts
  4. Description of education and career objectives (100 words maximum)
  5. Evidence of acceptance for study in a graduate program related to intelligent transportation systems (ITS) at a Canadian university, if not already enrolled
  6. List of scholarships received (including date, amount and focus of award), and any other financial assistance supporting your studies (e.g., teaching assistantships)
  7. Statement of work and life-related experience including employment history, professional affiliations, publications and extracurricular activities, and highlight ITS related experience.
  8. Statement indicating your understanding of the objectives and applications of ITS, in your own words (200 words maximum)
  9. Two letters of reference (one from the supervising professor, if applicable). Your references may be contacted for their views.
  10. Waiver form completed and signed (download from website).
