Smart Mobility Challenge FAQ

Who can submit an abstract?
Only registered exhibitors may submit an abstract.

Can I have more than one presenter?
A primary presenter must be listed.  A co presenter may also attend.  Both presenters must be registered to attend the conference.

Am I guaranteed to be selected if I’m an exhibitor?
No.  Abstracts will be judged based on technical merit by a selection committee.

Is this Abstract for the Summer Conference, or Winter Conference?
Currently, we are only accepting submissions for the Summer Conference.  Depending on the feedback from exhibitors and attendees, we may also have a similar challenge for the Winter Conference.

When delegates visit my room, what should my presentation look like?
The format of the presentation is flexible, but we recommend keeping the discussion informal. Of course you can use powerpoint slides, but to encourage a more engaging discussion, you can turn on your camera, and just show the products and technology as visual displays.  If the audience is small enough, encourage everyone to turn on their cameras and just ask questions as you go along.  We can also provide a facilitator, who can ask you questions, creating a more relaxed Q&A environment that encourages everyone in the room to ask questions and discuss freely (rather than a passive powerpoint or video presentation).  Near the end of the time allotment, we encourage you to ask if individuals would like to have a follow up discussion.

May I Submit More Than One Abstract?
Each Exhibitor may submit a maximum of two abstracts, but the two abstracts may not be from the same category.

What are the Challenges/Categories to choose from?
The specific challenges will not be released until March 23, 2021.  There are 4 Challenges to choose from, each within a specific location of Canada, each with its own real-life transportation problems.  Your job will be to present a hypothetical smart mobility solution - based on practical technologies, products, services - and how that solution would mitigate the problems in that area.

How Do I Submit an Abstract?
The abstract submission portal will open on April 5, 2021 and will close on May 7, 2021.  During that time, you will be able to see the specifics of the challenge, and can submit your short abstract for consideration on the "Smart Mobility Challenge Page"
