Under 40 years of age and in first 5 to 15 years of their career.
Nominated individual must currently be a resident of Canada and have been a member of at least one recognized ITS organization (i.e. ITS Canada, ITS America, ERTICO, etc.) during the last five consecutive years.
Nominee must be under 40 years of age anytime during the 2018 calendar year.
Individuals must be nominated and seconded on the Nomination Form by ITS Canada members from two separate organizations, one of those two organizations necessarily being the current employer of the individual nominated.
A "Nominee Profile" (maximum 2 pages/ ~ 500 words) prepared by the nominee's employer firm/agency/institution must accompany the Nomination Form. This profile which must be part of the Nomination Form, together with a photo, should describe the person being nominated and how they meet each of the criteria described below. Use specific examples whenever possible.
An additional "Letter of Support" as nomination seconder (maximum 1 page/ ~ 250 words) with contact information supporting the nomination from a firm/agency/institution outside of the nominee's current employer must accompany the Nomination Form. This letter which must be attached to the Nomination Form, should describe their relationship/relevance to the person being nominated and how the nominee has demonstrated his/herself to that organization in a manner fitting of the award nomination. Use specific examples whenever possible.
The employer of the individual nominated must sign the corresponding Nomination Form in the designated place, signifying that they support the nominee and agree to sponsor the nominee for costs to register and attend the 2018 ITS Canada Annual Conference & General Meeting should they be selected for the award.
The individual nominated must sign the corresponding Nomination Form in the designated place, signifying that they agree to attend the 2018 ACGM Awards Ceremony should they be selected for the award.
Nominee cannot nominate him/herself.
Industry and Professional Details: Detail under the Nominee's Profile, within the Nomination Form, the nominee's activities and contribution to ITS achievements, including role and approximate level of commitment.
Volunteer Activities: Detail under the Nominee's Profile, within the Nomination Form, the nominee's volunteer activities in support of their community at large, as may be applicable, including organization names and approximate level of commitment.
Additional Supporting Material: Additional supporting materials, such as resume, citations or recognition by outside firm/agency/institutions/clients are encouraged to be attached to the Nomination Form.
Specific Selection Criteria
ITS Industry/Business Contributions
The nominee has contributed to the advancement of the ITS through direct involvement in ITS initiatives related to projects and/or business activities and demonstrated influential associations with the ITS industry and professional community.
The nominee consistently produces high quality work in their ITS field of practice.
The nominee has made outstanding contributions to their own firm/agency/institution and successfully worked in association with other ITS project teamings or client firms/agencies/institutions.
The nominee understands ITS business practices of the nominee's firm/agency/institution toward ITS related goals at or above the level of expectation for their experience level and position
The nominee demonstrates leadership within their own firm/agency/institution.
If applicable, the nominee possesses good project management skills and completes work under approved scope, budget and schedule with respect to ITS project and or business initiatives. This can apply to work completed as Project manager or Supervisor, Assistant Project Manager or Supervisor, Deputy Project manager or Supervisor, or managing a technical team within a larger ITS project initiative and/or ITS related business function
The nominee's work and dedication as related to ITS is recognized outside of their own firm/agency/institution.
The nominee has established good relationships within their own firm/agency/institution and with the ITS industry.
The nominee contributes time and effort to voluntary activities within their local community.
Award winner must be committed to receiving the award in person at the 2019 Joint Conference & Exhibition Sept 22-25 in Halifax.
