  • Edmontonians are invited to learn more about research and criteria the City is considering as it develops a new Transit Strategy. The City has released a series of nine “Guiding Perspectives” reports that looks at topics the Transit Strategy will address. 

  • Professor Eric Sampson CBE has been elected to the international ITS Hall of Fame and will receive a Lifetime Personal Achievement award at the ITS World Congress this October, it was announced last week.

  • Greater Montréal has been selected Intelligent Community of 2016 from among seven finalists at the annual summit of the Intelligent Community Forum in Columbus, Ohio. The award salutes the accomplishment of communities in developing inclusive prosperity on a foundation of information and communications technology.

  • June 17, 2016 – Richmond, BC – National Defence / Canadian Armed Forces
    As part of the Government of Canada’s commitment to provide the Canadian Armed Forces with the equipment needed to respond to events and crises at home and abroad, Defence Minister Harjit S. Sajjan today announced a contract that will expand the Canadian Armed Forces' access to a domestic source of space-based observation data, greatly enhancing their ability to identify and track vessels from space in near-real-time.

  • An Award will be made in connection with the ITS World Congress in Melbourne 2016, for the best action taken to promote the creation of an ITS workforce which reflects the clients and users of the ITS being supplied and managed. 

  • The 2nd International Conference on Transportation Innovation brings together key researchers, industry professionals and public officials to share and strategize on the topics of transportation planning, operations and infrastructure. The goal of this year’s conference is to highlight new technology and methods that improve the efficiency and sustainability of transportation networks. 

  • On September 20 & 21, 2016, Van Horne Institute will be hosting the 2016 Canadian Inland Ports Conference in Winnipeg, Manitoba.  

  • The TRB Intermodal Freight Transport Committee (AT045) in conjunction with ITS Canada is hosting this informative webinar for our members, friends, and interested stakeholders on September 28, 2016. The objective of this webinar is to introduce and update freight stakeholders on the newly emerging concept/practice of moving freight in vehicles that are electronically ‘tethered’ together as they travel roadways.
